Install TallyReel
Three short steps on either system. The first launch downloads the AI models once (3 to 6.5 GB), so start it on a good connection, or skip most of it by using your own AI key for scripts.
System requirements
TallyReel makes everything on your own computer, so how fast it goes depends on the computer. It checks yours when it opens, picks what runs well on it, and tells you in Settings → Your computer when something runs slower or is off.
Minimum
Mac: A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer), macOS 13 or later, 8 GB of memory, 12 GB of free space.
Windows: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, 8 GB of memory, 12 GB of free space.
Scripts, the fast voice, stock footage, captions and music. Videos take a few minutes.
Recommended
Mac: A Mac with Apple silicon and 16 GB of memory or more (24 GB to keep everything loaded at once), 40 GB of free space.
Windows: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 with 16 GB of memory and an NVIDIA RTX 3060 or newer with 8 GB of graphics memory, 25 GB of free space.
Everything above plus the natural voice in all 31 languages Studio speaks, at full speed and the larger script writer. On a Mac also AI pictures with a consistent cast and 3D camera moves.
Below the recommended spec nothing is locked: the natural voice falls back to the fast one on a computer it would be slow on, and AI pictures come from the online service on Windows. Intel Macs are not supported.
On a Mac

Drag it into Applications
Open the TallyReel .dmg from your purchase email, then drag TallyReel onto the Applications folder.

Allow it the first time
Open TallyReel from Applications. macOS says it can't verify the developer: click Done. Then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the message about TallyReel, click Open Anyway and confirm with your password. You only do this once.

Download the models
TallyReel opens on a setup screen. Click Download models and keep it open until it finishes.

On Windows

Run the installer
Open TallyReel setup .exe from your purchase email.

Get past SmartScreen
If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. Follow the installer and launch TallyReel at the end.

Download the models
TallyReel opens on a setup screen. Click Download models and keep it open until it finishes.

Activate your license

Open Settings
In TallyReel, click Settings, or the trial badge at the top right.

Paste your key
Copy the license key from your purchase email, paste it under License and click Activate. That's it: unlimited videos on that computer.
Moving to a new computer? Click Deactivate on this computer in Settings first, then activate on the new one.
Why the warning?
Apple and Microsoft show that message for apps that aren't signed with their paid developer certificates. TallyReel is made by an independent developer and isn't signed yet. The app you download is the same either way, and the warning only appears the first time you open it.
