AutoShorts vs Crayo vs TallyReel

A channel that posts itself, a video factory, or videos you approve

Short answer: Pick AutoShorts.ai if you want one series that makes and posts itself on a fixed rhythm. Pick Crayo if you want hundreds of Reddit story, fake text or clipped videos a month and are happy to post them yourself. Pick TallyReel if you want to approve each script, post to more than YouTube and TikTok, or make long YouTube videos too.

Pick AutoShorts.ai if you want one channel posting on a fixed rhythm with as few decisions as possible.

Pick Crayo if you make Reddit story or fake text videos and want hundreds a month.

Pick TallyReel if you want to read and edit every script before it renders.

AutoShorts.ai and Crayo both sell faceless Shorts, but they solve different problems. AutoShorts.ai is a posting machine: you create a series on a topic, connect your channel, and it makes and posts a new video on your plan's schedule. Crayo is a production line: it makes Reddit story videos, fake text conversations and clips from long videos in volume, and leaves posting to you.

TallyReel, which we make, sits between them: it writes each video from one idea, waits for you to edit and approve it, then schedules it to 15 networks. Every price and feature below was read from each tool's own site on October 27, 2026.

  • You like seeing the posting frequency as the price.

Pick Crayo if

  • You make Reddit story or fake text videos and want hundreds a month.
  • You also clip long videos and want it all in one plan.
  • You already have a way to post, or post by hand.

Price for a Short a day

On AutoShorts.ai a Short every day means the Daily plan, $39 a month or $390 a year. Starter at $19 posts three times a week. On Crayo, Hobby at $29 a month already includes 250 videos, so a daily channel uses a fraction of it; the export hours (2 a month on Hobby) and voiceover minutes (30) are the limits you reach first, and you still have to upload each video.

On TallyReel, Starter's 4,000 credits cover a Short a day, at $19 a month during the launch offer and $29 after 30 November, with scheduling included. Autopilot, where a series makes and posts itself, starts on Plus.

Control versus volume

AutoShorts.ai's own site says you can preview each video and edit the script, title, images or music before it posts, but the product is designed so you don't have to. Crayo is the opposite: you are in the editor for every video, and nothing goes out without you. Both are reasonable; they suit different people.

The thing to watch with any fast tool is YouTube's inauthentic content policy, renamed in July 2025, which refuses to monetize repetitive, mass-produced videos. A series that looks the same every day, or a stream of near-identical Reddit reads, is what that rule is written for. Whichever tool you use, change the scripts and vary the visuals.

Where TallyReel fits, and where it doesn't

TallyReel doesn't make fake text conversation videos or clip your long videos, so it isn't a Crayo replacement for those formats. It also asks more of you than AutoShorts.ai on its cheaper plans, because each video waits for your approval.

It fits when you want original videos you have read first, posted to more than one or two networks, and when the channel will also need long 16:9 YouTube videos, which go up to 15 minutes on Pro. If a video fails, its credits come back automatically.

Questions

Is AutoShorts or Crayo cheaper?

AutoShorts.ai starts lower at $19 a month for 3 posts a week; a daily post is $39. Crayo starts at $29 a month but includes 250 videos, so it is far cheaper per video if you post them yourself. Prices as checked on October 27, 2026.

Does Crayo post to TikTok or YouTube for you?

Can I get a refund from Crayo or AutoShorts?

Crayo's refund policy says all sales are final and it gives no refunds. We couldn't read AutoShorts.ai's refund answer on its public page. TallyReel refunds unused credits within 14 days.

Which is better for Reddit story videos?

Crayo, if you want the classic Reddit read with background footage in volume. TallyReel if you want original first-person stories with matching footage, which is safer for monetization.

Which one makes long YouTube videos?
