OpusClip vs Crayo
Clips from your long videos against viral short formats made from scratch
Short answer: Pick OpusClip if you already have long videos, podcasts or streams and want them cut into Shorts and posted. Pick Crayo if you want short-form formats like Reddit stories and fake text videos made in bulk, with clipping included.
Pick OpusClip if you have long videos, podcasts or streams and want them turned into Shorts.
Pick Crayo if you make Reddit story or fake text videos and want them in bulk.
Pick TallyReel if you have no footage and want original faceless videos written and made from one idea.
OpusClip and Crayo both feed the Shorts, Reels and TikTok machine, but from opposite ends. OpusClip is a clipping tool first: upload a long video or link a YouTube channel, and it finds the strongest moments, reframes them to vertical, adds animated captions and scores each clip for virality. Its paid plans also post and schedule to social networks.
Crayo is a short-form factory. Its workflows generate Reddit story videos, fake text conversations and auto-clips, with AI voiceovers, AI images and an editor, and every plan includes all its tools. Crayo also clips long videos, but its identity is the viral formats. Below is what each pricing page said (OpusClip on October 18, 2026, Crayo on October 27, 2026), and how to choose.

Prices and what they buy
OpusClip has a free plan with 60 credits a month, clips up to 1080p, a watermark, no editing and a three-day window to export. Starter is $15 a month, sold monthly only, with 150 credits, watermark removal, captions in 20+ languages and posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram. Pro is $29 a month or $174 a year ($14.50 a month), with 300 credits that roll over for two months, two seats, six social account connections, a scheduler, AI B-roll and dubbing.
Crayo lists Hobby at $29 a month, Clipper at $59 and Pro at $129 when billed monthly; yearly billing is cheaper, but the pricing page does not list the yearly figures, and all sales are final. A workflow credit is one AI-generated video, so Hobby's 250 credits a month is a lot of videos; the export allowance (2, 10 or 30 hours a month) and voiceover minutes (30, 120 or 180) are the limits you are more likely to hit.
Per month, OpusClip is cheaper to start and has a free plan; Crayo costs more per month but gives more output per dollar if you make many short videos.
Different jobs, honestly
OpusClip needs footage. Its value is finding the strongest moments in an hour-long podcast, reframing a speaker to vertical, adding captions with emoji and keyword highlights, and scheduling the result. If you don't have long videos, it has little to work with.
Crayo makes footage-free formats: a Reddit post narrated over background footage, a text-message conversation animated on screen, or auto-clips from a video you give it. It adds AI voiceovers and AI images, and every plan includes all tools, such as a subtitle remover, speech enhancer and a YouTube and TikTok downloader. Its pricing page doesn't list posting; it tracks views on your connected accounts.
If you post your own long content, OpusClip is the natural pick. If you run faceless Shorts channels in the formats that trend on TikTok, Crayo is.

Where TallyReel fits, and where it doesn't
TallyReel doesn't clip existing footage at all, so it is not an OpusClip replacement. If you have long videos to repurpose, use OpusClip.
It fits when you have no footage and want original videos: you type one idea, it writes a script with a hook and planned shots, and once you approve it builds the video from real stock footage or AI pictures with voiceover, captions and music. It also makes stick-figure skits, comic stories and AI host videos, and 16:9 YouTube videos up to 15 minutes on Pro. Every plan schedules to 15 networks. Compared with Crayo, it is less suited to fake-text formats, and better suited to stories and explainers you want to look original rather than templated.
