An online video editor built for AI videos
Change the one scene that's wrong. Keep the rest.
TallyReel has two editors in the browser for the videos it makes. The scene editor lets you rewrite a line, swap a picture or change how a line is read and shot, then remakes only the scenes you changed, without using credits. The full timeline editor adds tracks, transitions, keyframes, text, stickers, speed, sound and recording, with autosave and export at 1080p or 720p.
Plans: Every plan can make quick edits (text, trim, swap a picture). Starter adds scenes, text and timing; Plus adds re-recording lines, tones and pauses; Pro adds AI scene redo, B-roll, music mixing and Direct with Tally.
The worst part of AI video is the all-or-nothing remake: one bad picture in scene 7 and you either post it or pay for the whole video again. TallyReel keeps each finished video's parts (the script, each line's voice and each scene's picture) for an edit window, so a change to one scene only remakes that scene and stitches the video again.
When you want more than a fix, the timeline editor opens the same video as layers on a multi-track timeline, the way a desktop editor would, but in your browser. It saves as you go, keeps a version history and can export a new file without leaving the page.

How it works
- Open a video from your Library. Every video TallyReel made shows how long it stays editable on its card. Open it and choose Edit video for scenes, or the editor for the full timeline.
- Change one scene. Pick a scene and rewrite its line, give it a new picture (upload, Library, repaint with your own description, or stock footage), or change its voice to the AI voice, your cloned voice or a take you record.
- Direct the line. Under Direction, set a tone (whisper, hushed, angry, excited, deadpan), a short pause before it, the shot (wide, medium, close), a camera move and the key word the captions lean on.
- Save and make the video. Only the scenes you changed are made again. Each video can be saved up to 20 times, and scene edits use your free fixes (30, 100 or 300 a month by plan), then 20 credits a saved edit.
- Or open the timeline. Trim, split, reorder and layer clips, add titles and stickers, change transitions and speed, mix the sound, then export.
What people use it for
What the timeline editor can do
- A multi-track timeline with preview, autosave, undo and a version history you can restore from.
- 12 transitions (cut, fade, dip to black, cross zoom, whip pan, slide, wipe, spin, glitch, light leak, blur, film burn), motion presets and keyframes.
- Layers on top: titles with text presets, stickers, shapes, and pictures or clips from your Library.
- Captions you can restyle one by one or all at once, effects and looks, speed changes, masks and blend modes.
- Sound: the voice, music and a sound library, your own uploads, volume control and music that lowers while someone speaks.
- Record a line, a voiceover, your camera or your screen without leaving the editor.
- Frames of 9:16, 16:9, 1:1 and 4:5, safe-zone guides, markers and precise trimming.
- Export at 1080p or 720p, 30 or 60 frames a second, in the browser or on TallyReel's server for browsers that can't make video files.
Direct with Tally
On Pro, type what you want changed ("make scene 3 shorter and fade into it") and Tally turns it into edits on the timeline. You see the result straight away and can undo it in one click. Tally only makes changes it can check on your timeline, and says so when it can't find what you meant.
Pro also adds AI scene redo inside the editor: redraw one scene's picture, or have a line read again by the AI voice after you change it, with the new file swapped in when it is ready.
Honest limits
- The editors open videos TallyReel made. You can bring your own clips and photos into one, but there is no blank project for editing footage from elsewhere.
- A video's parts are kept for an edit window that depends on your plan (2 days on Free, 30 days on paid plans). After it, the video stays but can't be edited by scene. Pin a video to keep it editable. Free keeps the video itself for 7 days, and emails you 3 days before it's deleted.
- Each video can be saved up to 20 times in the scene editor, because each save runs the graphics cards again.
- It is a browser editor. Very long videos on an older laptop are smoother to export on TallyReel's server than in the browser.
Questions
Can I edit an AI generated video after it is made?
Yes. In TallyReel you can rewrite a line, swap a picture or change the voice of any single scene, and only that scene is made again. Scene edits use your free fixes (30, 100 or 300 a month by plan), then 20 credits a saved edit.
Is there a free online video editor in TallyReel?
Free accounts can make quick edits: change text, trim and swap a picture. The scene, text and timing tools start on Starter at $19 a month.
Can I record my own voice for one line?
Yes. In either editor, record the line in your browser and it replaces that line's voice. You can also use your cloned voice on Plus and Pro.
What resolution does the editor export?
1080p or 720p, at 30 or 60 frames a second, in 9:16, 16:9, 1:1 or 4:5.
Can I tell the editor what to change in plain words?
Yes, on Pro. Direct with Tally takes a request like "slow down the last scene" and applies it to the timeline, and you can undo it in one click.
