Thank-you posts, family recipes, and the history behind the table
Thanksgiving is the one holiday where people expect brands to slow down. A short, honest thank-you does better than a discount, and recipe and history videos carry most of November for creators. All of it works without a face on camera: hands rolling pie dough, a table being set, a storefront at closing time, an old recipe card.
Thanksgiving 2026 is Thursday, November 26, 2026. Black Friday follows on November 27 and Small Business Saturday on November 28, so the week before is the last calm window you get before the sales start. Below are 40 ideas, two scripts, and a plan for the month.

The script behind the video above
The Year America Had Two Thanksgivings
1
In 1939, America could not agree on which Thursday was Thanksgiving.
2
That November had five Thursdays, and the holiday was set to land on the very last one.
3
Shop owners worried that a late Thanksgiving left too few days for holiday shopping.
4
So the President moved it one week earlier. Not every state went along.
5
For a few years, some families ate turkey on one Thursday while their neighbors waited for the next.
6
In 1941, Congress settled it for good: the fourth Thursday of November, every year since.
Script 2
A Thank You From Our Shop
1
This Thanksgiving, we want to say thank you, and actually mean it.
2
This year you ordered from us, came back again, and told your friends.
3
Every one of those orders paid a real person on our small team.
4
So on Thursday we are closed. Everyone gets a full day at home.
5
We open again Friday morning, with something small to say thanks.
6
From all of us to your table, happy Thanksgiving.
When to post for Thanksgiving 2026
Start in the first week of November. Recipe and history searches build all month, and businesses that take pre-orders need two or three weeks of reminders before the deadline. The week of Thanksgiving itself is crowded and busy, so get your useful posts out early and keep the last few days for short, practical updates.
November 1 to 8: announce pie and catering pre-orders, to-go menus, and your holiday hours.
November 9 to 15: recipes, make-ahead tips, and a short run of history facts.
November 16 to 22: last calls for pre-orders and Friendsgiving posts, since many groups meet the weekend before.
Monday November 23 to Wednesday November 25: thawing and timing tips, pickup reminders, final hours.
Thursday November 26: one calm thank-you post in the morning. No sale.
Friday November 27 onward: switch to your Black Friday and Small Business Saturday offers.
Thank-you posts that do not sound like a template
Generic gratitude blends into every other post that week. Be specific: name what customers actually did (came back, left a review, ordered for a friend), show the real work, and say one true thing about your year. A real detail, like the first order of the year or the shelf you rebuilt twice, does more than a list of adjectives.
Keep it short. Twenty to thirty seconds is plenty for a thank-you. End with a simple sign-off rather than a call to buy, and save the link for the Black Friday post the next day.
What to avoid
Do not hard sell on Thanksgiving Day itself; it reads as tone-deaf and people are offline anyway. Get the history right: the 1621 feast is often told as a simple friendship story, and many Native people see the day very differently, so keep facts accurate and avoid costumes or caricatures. Give food safety advice only from official guidance such as the USDA, and do not invent customer quotes or reviews. Use your own recipes, or credit the source, and never repost another creator's cooking video.
How to make it in TallyReel
Type one idea, such as "the year America had two Thanksgivings", and edit the script it drafts until every line sounds like you. The app picks stock footage for each line (kitchens, tables, autumn streets) and adds a voiceover, captions and music. Make a week of posts in one sitting, then use Post scheduling to send them to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook on the days in the plan above.
