Clear offers, honest deadlines, and posts that cut through the noise
Black Friday is loud. Every brand is shouting a discount, so the small businesses that do well are the ones that are clear and a little human: what the offer is, who it is for, when it ends, and why you are running it. A short reel that shows the product and says the deal in the first line beats a flashy graphic.
Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November 2026, the day after US Thanksgiving. Small Business Saturday follows on 28 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November. Below are 40 ideas for small businesses and creators, two scripts, and a plan for the whole week.

Why It Is Called Black Friday
1
Black Friday was not named by shops. It was named by exhausted police officers.
2
In 1950s and 1960s Philadelphia, the day after Thanksgiving brought huge crowds into the city.
3
Shoppers and football fans filled the streets, and traffic stood still.
4
Officers had to work long shifts, and they started calling it Black Friday.
5
Shops disliked the name. Later came a friendlier story, about the day businesses went from red into the black.
6
That version stuck. But it started with a traffic jam.

Our Black Friday Offer
1
Our Black Friday offer is simple. Twenty percent off everything, from Friday to Monday.
2
No codes to hunt for. The price you see is the price you pay.
3
Everything is made in small batches, so when something sells out, it is gone until spring.
4
Buying gifts? Order by the tenth of December and it arrives before Christmas.
5
And every order this weekend comes wrapped, with a handwritten thank you note.
6
The offer ends Monday at midnight. Thank you for shopping small.
When to start posting for Black Friday
Start teasing two to three weeks before. Many shoppers now make lists in early November, and a lot of brands run their deals for the whole week, so waiting until Friday means you are late. Collect interest first (a waitlist, a message keyword, a follow) and then give those people early access.
Then post every day from Thursday to Monday, because people check back to see what is left.
3 weeks before: tease that something is coming, grow your list.
1 week before: reveal the offer, bundles and delivery dates.
Thursday night: early access for your list or followers.
Black Friday: the offer in the first line, posted in the morning.
Saturday to Monday: Small Business Saturday story, what is left, last chance.
What to post on the day
Post your offer early in the morning, clearly and without fuss. A 15 second reel with the product, the discount and the end date is enough. Post again at lunch with a different product or a behind-the-scenes clip, and an evening reminder if stock is running low.
Business offer ideas that are not just a discount
Deep discounts can hurt a small business's margins. A bundle or bonus often protects your prices and still feels like a deal.
Bundles: three products for the price of two.
Gift card bonuses: spend a set amount, get extra credit for January.
Free gift wrapping or a free add-on with every order.
Lock in next year's price for memberships and classes.
A give-back: a donation per order to a named cause.
What to avoid
Do not inflate the original price to make a discount look bigger, and do not use fake countdown timers or invented stock warnings. In many places these practices can break consumer protection rules, and customers notice. Avoid promising delivery dates you cannot meet. If you are a creator, disclose affiliate links and sponsored posts clearly.
Making and scheduling it in TallyReel
Type your offer as one idea and edit the draft so the deal is in the first line. Stock footage, voiceover, captions and music are made on your own computer. Make your whole Black Friday week in one sitting, then use TallyReel Post to schedule it across your networks, so you can spend the weekend packing orders.
