Schedule Bluesky posts, no OAuth dance required

Bluesky has no built-in scheduling, and most schedulers still don’t support it. TallyReel does, and connecting takes about thirty seconds with a Bluesky app password.

When to post

Best time to post on Bluesky

Bluesky’s following feed is chronological, so timing matters a lot: a post only gets seen by people who are scrolling around when it goes out. Weekday mornings and early evenings in US and European time are busy; if your audience is split, schedule the same idea twice in different words.

TallyReel starts every account from the same baseline, weekday peaks at 8 AM, 12 PM, 5 PM, 6 PM, weekend peaks at 10 AM, 11 AM, 7 PM, 8 PM, in your audience’s local time, and after about 20 published posts shifts it toward the hours that actually work for you.

Write it well

Bluesky posts that land

  • Plain, human tone. Links render as cards; skip hashtag stacks.
  • Plain, human writing does best; skip the hashtag stacks.
  • An app password can’t change your account password or read your DMs, which is why we ask for one instead of your real password.
  • 300 characters counts grapheme by grapheme, so a family emoji is one character, not seven.

Bluesky scheduling FAQ

Is it safe to give TallyReel an app password?

App passwords are designed for exactly this: they can post on your behalf but can’t change your password or delete your account, and you can revoke one in a click. TallyReel stores it encrypted.

Does it work with custom domain handles?

Yes. Enter your handle as it appears on your profile, e.g. yourname.com.

What’s the character limit on Bluesky?

300 characters. TallyReel counts the way Bluesky does, so the number you see is the number Bluesky will check.

Is Bluesky scheduling free?

Yes, every feature and every network is free while TallyReel is in beta, with no card required. Beta users will get plenty of notice before paid plans start.
