The Blue Biscuit Tin
Every desi home has a blue biscuit tin. And it has never had biscuits in it.
You open it hoping for butter cookies. Instead you find needles, thread and forty buttons.
There is always a safety pin, a measuring tape and one button from a coat nobody owns anymore.
Nobody knows when the biscuits were eaten. It happened before we were born.
But that tin has fixed school uniforms, wedding clothes and every Eid outfit in the family.
Send this to the cousin who still thinks there are biscuits inside.
