AI video generators that give credits back when a video fails

Read the refund policy before the first render, not after

Short answer: TallyReel (ours) returns credits automatically whenever a cloud video fails, is stopped before its pictures are being made. Stop it after that and half stays used, or stalls for 45 minutes, and refunds unused credits within 14 days. Revid's terms say it returns credits when a generation fails because of a problem on its side, in many cases automatically. Faceless.video, StoryShort, InVideo AI and Crayo don't promise credits back for a failed video in the policies we read on October 27, 2026, and Crayo gives no refunds at all.

  1. TallyReel: automatic credits back plus a refund window
  2. Revid: credits back for failures on its side
  3. Faceless.video: a full refund in the first 7 days
  4. StoryShort: billing-error protection
  5. InVideo AI: a refund if you haven't started
  6. Crayo: volume, if you accept no refunds

Credits that burn on failed or broken renders are one of the most common complaints about AI video tools. Most tools take credits when a render starts, so what happens when it fails depends entirely on the company's policy, and those policies are usually in the terms of service, not on the pricing page.

We read the refund and credit terms of six tools on October 27, 2026 and quote what each one actually promises. We make TallyReel, which is one of them. Where a policy says nothing about failed videos, we say so rather than guess; ask support before you buy if it matters to you.

1. TallyReel

Best for: automatic credits back plus a refund window

TallyReel's refund policy says credits return on their own, without asking, when a cloud video fails, when you stop it before its pictures are being made, and half stays used after that, or when it makes no progress for 45 minutes. Separately, it refunds the unused part of a plan month or credit pack within 14 days, and Studio in full within 14 days. Cancelling takes two clicks and keeps the month you paid for.

Price: Free plan (300 free credits once, about 3 videos). Starter $19 a month at launch ($29 after 30 November), Plus $39, Pro $79. Credit packs: 2,000 for $12. (all plans)

Good

  • Failed videos refund automatically, no ticket needed.
  • 14-day refunds for unused credits, with a worked example in the policy.

Watch out for

  • A video that finishes but you don't like isn't a failure; fix single scenes instead.
  • New, with no third-party reviews yet.

2. Revid

Best for: credits back for failures on its side

Revid's terms say that if a generation fails because of a problem on its side, it returns the credits, in many cases automatically. Subscriptions are generally non-refundable, but it may refund at its discretion if less than 10% of the credits were used and the payment was within 30 days. Its editor shows the estimated credit cost before every render.

Price: Growth $39 a month ($32 billed yearly), Elite $89, Ultra $199. (checked 27 October 2026)

Good

  • A written promise to return credits for its own failures.
  • Shows the cost before each render.

Watch out for

  • Refunds of the plan itself are discretionary.
  • Unused credits have no cash value and aren't refunded.

Best for: a full refund in the first 7 days

Faceless.video's terms give a full refund if you cancel within 7 days of your first purchase or an annual renewal. After that, refunds are at its discretion for documented technical failures on its side, requested within 30 days. The terms don't mention returning credits for a single failed video.

Best for: billing-error protection

StoryShort's refund policy says subscriptions and credit purchases are non-refundable, though it may refund a payment from the last 15 days if none of its credits were used. Billing errors, duplicate charges and charges after you cancel are always refunded. For an extended outage it may offer account credit.

Price: Starter $39 a month ($23 billed yearly), Growth $69, Influencer $129, Ultra $199. (checked 27 October 2026)

Good

  • Billing mistakes always refunded in full.

5. InVideo AI

Best for: a refund if you haven't started

InVideo AI's terms say fees are non-refundable, with one exception: you may ask for a refund within 7 days of a purchase or renewal if you haven't used any credits or premium features. Credits, free or paid, are non-refundable. The terms don't describe returning credits for a failed generation.

Price: Basic $9 a month billed monthly, Pro $30, Ultra $80; less billed yearly. (checked 27 October 2026)

Good

  • A 7-day window if you change your mind before using it.

6. Crayo

Best for: volume, if you accept no refunds

Crayo's refund policy is the strictest here: all sales are final and it offers no refunds under any circumstances once a transaction is complete. You can cancel at any time and keep the plan to the end of the billing cycle. It doesn't address failed videos.

Price: Hobby $29 a month, Clipper $59, Pro $129. (checked 27 October 2026)

Good

  • Cancel anytime, keep access to the end of the cycle.
  • 250 videos a month on the cheapest plan.

  • No refunds of any kind.
  • Unused monthly credits don't roll over.

Failed, stopped, or just not good: three different things

Policies treat these cases differently, so it helps to name them. A failed video never finishes because something broke on the company's side. A stopped video is one you cancel yourself. A finished video you don't like is neither, and almost no tool refunds it, because the computing was spent.

The fair policies cover the first case without you having to ask. For the third case, what saves credits is a tool that lets you fix one scene instead of remaking the whole video, and that shows you the script before anything renders, so a wrong idea is caught when it costs nothing.

How to check a tool before you pay

Why this matters more for faceless channels

A faceless channel that posts every day runs hundreds of renders a month. If even a few percent fail and the credits are gone, the real price of a plan climbs every month without the pricing page changing. Long videos make it worse, because one failed 10-minute render can cost as much as ten Shorts.

Policies change, and we only quote what each company published on October 27, 2026. If credit refunds matter to you, ask support in writing before you subscribe and keep the reply.

Questions

Which AI video generator refunds credits when a video fails?

TallyReel returns credits automatically for any failed cloud video. Revid's terms say it returns credits for failures on its side, often automatically. Faceless.video, StoryShort, InVideo AI and Crayo didn't promise this in the policies we read on October 27, 2026.

Do I get credits back if I don't like the video?

Usually not, because the video finished. Tools that let you edit the script first and redo one scene cost you less when a video misses.

Which AI video tool has the best refund policy?

Of the six we read, TallyReel refunds unused credits within 14 days and failed videos automatically, and Faceless.video gives a full refund within 7 days of your first purchase. Crayo gives no refunds.

How do I get a refund from TallyReel?

Email support@tallyreel.com within 14 days of the charge. You get back the unused part of that month or credit pack; failed videos don't need a request.

Can I cancel an AI video subscription anytime?

Revid, Faceless.video, StoryShort and Crayo all say you can cancel and keep access to the end of the period you paid for. TallyReel does the same, and cancelling takes two clicks from Plan and billing.
