One host, one topic, lips in sync

Some videos need a face. An explainer, a quick news update or a list of tips holds attention better when someone is looking at the camera and saying it. An AI host video gives you that without filming yourself: you type the topic, the AI writes what the host says, and the host's lips move with the voice.

You can pick one of six built-in hosts (Leo, Maya, Zara, Kabir, Nora and Sam) or make your own: describe a made-up person in words, or draw or upload a character. Hosts are never made from photos of real people. This page covers how it works, 36 ideas that suit a single host, two scripts to copy, and the questions people ask first.

Why You Forget Names Instantly

1

You forget a name five seconds after hearing it. That isn't a bad memory. It's a busy one.

2

When someone says their name, your brain is still busy with the handshake, the smile and what you'll say next.

3

So the name never gets stored. It just passes straight through.

4

The fix takes three seconds. Say it back right away: nice to meet you, Priya.

5

Then link the name to one thing you can see, like Priya with the purple scarf.

6

Use it once more before you leave, and it usually sticks. Try it at the next thing you go to.

Before You Book That Cheap Flight

1

That cheap flight might not be cheap. Check three things before you book.

2

One, the bag. Many low fares only include a small bag under the seat, and a suitcase can cost more than the ticket.

3

Two, the airport. Some budget routes land far from the city, so add the train or taxi to the price.

4

Three, the time. A 6am flight can mean a hotel night or an expensive ride before dawn.

5

Add those up, then compare. Sometimes the fare that looked pricier is the cheaper trip.

6

Save this for your next booking, and tell me the worst hidden fee you've ever paid.

How an AI host video gets made

AI host videos are made in the TallyReel web app, from any browser. Pick AI host on Create and choose one host.

Your own host, and the rules for faces

There are three ways to make your own host. Describe a made-up person in a few words, like a woman in her 30s with short curly hair, and a portrait is drawn for you. Or upload a character you drew or own, like a mascot. Photos of real people can't be used.

Every host is made up or drawn. TallyReel doesn't make hosts from photos of real people, and descriptions that name or compare to a real person, a celebrity or a public figure are refused. Anyone who thinks a host looks like them can report it and have it removed. You can keep up to 12 hosts of your own.

For the best lips, use a picture that faces the camera with the mouth closed. The app warns you when a picture will lip-sync badly, like an open mouth or a turned head.

What works with one host

A single host works best when the video is one person explaining something to one viewer: a topic broken into steps, a short news update, a numbered list of tips, a story told to camera, or an honest review. Keep the first line a question or a surprise, and keep each line short enough to say in one breath. Long, winding sentences are where talking-head videos start to feel robotic.

Use the same host for a whole series. Viewers start to recognise the face and the voice, which is most of what makes a presenter channel feel like a channel. If you need two people talking, an interview or a debate, use a two-host video instead.

Plans and length

AI host videos come with any paid plan or credits. Length follows the plan: up to 3 minutes on Starter, 5 on Plus and 15 on Pro. A video uses 250 credits a minute, the same as any other video of that length. The free plan can try the other formats, like stories and stick figure skits.

Questions

Can I make an AI avatar of myself?

No. TallyReel doesn't make hosts from photos of real people, including you. Describe a made-up host or upload a drawn character instead, and pick the voice it speaks in. You can also clone your own voice for it.

Can I use a photo of a real person?

No. Hosts are made up or drawn, never made from a photo of a real person. Anyone who thinks a host looks like them can report it and have it removed.

Do the lips really match the words?

Yes. The host's mouth is moved to follow the voice line by line. Closed-mouth, front-facing pictures give the cleanest result.

What languages can an AI host speak?

The same languages as other videos, including English, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish and Arabic. The AI writes the lines in that language rather than translating them from English.

Is there a free AI avatar video maker?

AI host videos come with any paid plan or credits and use 250 credits a minute. The free plan makes stock videos, quizzes, stick skits and promos.

Pick one. Make it tonight.

Type the idea into TallyReel, read the script, and it makes the video for you: in the browser, on your phone, or in Studio on your own computer. Start on the free plan.
