Ghar ki chai, Ammi ki chappal, aur har kirdar ki apni awaaz
An Urdu cartoon only works if it sounds like a Pakistani home: the father who has fixed load shedding forever, the mother who has heard that before, the cousin who eats the last samosa. TallyReel's talking cartoons are written in Urdu from the first line, in Urdu script, with each character speaking in their own Urdu voice and their lips moving with the words. The dialogue isn't an English skit run through a translator.
The cartoon below is a real one, made in TallyReel in Urdu: four friends fighting over one cup of chai until it goes cold. This page covers how an Urdu cartoon gets made, 36 skit ideas that suit desi characters, two scripts you can paste in, and what it costs.

The script behind the video above
Script 2
How an Urdu cartoon gets made
Cartoons are made in the TallyReel web app, in any browser or on your phone. Pick Animated on Create.
1. Type the situation in one line, in English, Urdu or Roman Urdu, or paste a whole story and it is acted out as written.
2. Pick Urdu as the language, then the length, tall or wide, and the kind of funny: dry, slapstick, wholesome, savage or awkward.
3. The skit is written in Urdu script, beat by beat: who speaks, what they say and how they move. Edit any line, or have one line written again.
4. Pick the look: 3D cartoon, Storybook or Anime. Every character is drawn in that look, in the poses the skit needs. Redraw one, or swap it for your own character.
5. Each character gets their own Urdu voice, so two boys in one story don't sound the same, and their lips move with their lines. A storyteller voice can carry the parts between the dialogue.
6. Check the Urdu captions, add music (the desi mood suits most home comedy), then download it or schedule it to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and more.
Who it suits, and a word on kids
Desi home comedy is the strongest fit: families, guests, weddings, Eid, cricket and load shedding are things every Urdu viewer has lived, so the joke lands without explaining it. Old moral tales such as the two cats and the monkey, the thirsty crow or a Mulla Nasruddin story also work, because they are already told aloud in Pakistani homes. Small businesses use the same tool for a mascot that explains a menu, a sale or the first day at a tuition centre.
Cartoons are watched by children whether you aim them there or not. If a video is made for children, YouTube asks you to mark it made for kids, which turns off comments and personalized ads, so most comedy channels write for the whole family instead. Keep the humour clean either way.
Plans and credits
Cartoons come with any paid plan or credits. A cartoon uses 300 credits a minute, cast included, because every character and place is drawn for it, so Starter's 4,000 credits a month make about 13 minutes of cartoon. Length follows the plan: up to 3 minutes on Starter, 5 on Plus and 15 on Pro. Stick figure skits use the same skit writer at 100 credits a minute, so you can try the Urdu dialogue first.
