Why a Single Diya Matters
On Diwali night, one small clay lamp does something beautiful.
It is called a diya. Clay, a little oil, and a cotton wick.
A widely told story says a city lit rows of them to welcome a king home after fourteen years away.
For many families, the light stands for good winning over darkness.
So they line windows, doorsteps and rooftops, until the whole street glows.
One lamp is small, but a street full of them is Diwali. Happy Diwali.
