TallyReel on your phone

Android now, from a link. iPhone coming.

TallyReel's Android app uses the same account as the website: make cloud videos in every format, see your calendar and Library, approve drafts, and get a notification when a video is ready or a post needs you. It isn't on Google Play yet, so it installs from a link; leave your email on tallyreel.com and we send you the installer. The iPhone app is not out yet.

Plans: Every plan, including Free. The app is free to install and uses your TallyReel plan and credits, the same as the web app.

Most of a faceless channel's work is small: an idea on the bus, a script to approve, a post to move to tomorrow. The phone app is built for that. It has the same make flow as the web app, so you can start a video from your phone, close the app, and get a notification when it is ready to check and post.

Videos are made in the TallyReel cloud, not on the phone, so an older phone makes the same video as a new one and the battery isn't touched. You can close the app while it works; the video is waiting in your Library when the notification arrives.

How it works

  1. Get the link. On tallyreel.com, choose Android in the phone app section and leave your email. We email you the installer.
  2. Install the file. When you open the file, Android asks you to allow installs from your browser. That is the one extra step until the app is on Google Play.
  3. Sign in with your TallyReel account. The same Google, Apple or email sign-in as the website. Your videos, calendar and connected accounts are already there.
  4. Make, check and post. Tap Generate to make a video, check it in the Library, and schedule it to your connected accounts.

What people use it for

An idea on the goType or paste the idea the moment you have it and let the video make itself while you get on with your day.
Approving a teammate's postGet a notification when a post waits for a yes, open it and approve it in the app.
Moving a postOpen the calendar and move tomorrow's post to Friday without opening a laptop.
Filling the weekRun Fill my week from your phone on Sunday evening and check what Tally wrote.
Seeing what workedOpen Insights to see how your latest videos did across networks.

What the Android app does

Phone, web and Studio, one account

Everything you do in the app is the same account and the same data as app.tallyreel.com. Start a video on your phone and open it on your laptop to edit it on the full timeline; schedule a post on the web and move it on your phone. Credits, connected accounts, drafts and your brand kit are shared, so there is nothing to sync or export.

If you own TallyReel Studio, the desktop app for Mac and Windows, pick On my computer when you make a video on your phone. Your linked Studio makes it on your own computer, free and without credits, and the finished video appears in your Library on the phone. Nothing moves to the cloud by itself: if your computer can't make it, the app says so and lets you choose.

iPhone

The iPhone app is not on the App Store yet. On tallyreel.com, pick iPhone in the phone app section and leave your email, and we email you when it is out. Until then, the web app at app.tallyreel.com works in Safari on iPhone with the same account.

Questions

Is there a TallyReel app for Android?

Yes. It isn't on Google Play yet, so leave your email on tallyreel.com and we send you the installer. It uses the same account as the website.

Is there a TallyReel iPhone app?

Not yet. Leave your email on tallyreel.com and we tell you when it is out. The web app works in Safari on iPhone in the meantime.

Can I make faceless videos on my phone?

Yes. The app has the same make flow as the web app. The video is made in the TallyReel cloud, so any phone that runs the app makes the same video.

Does the app cost extra?

No. It is free to install and uses your TallyReel plan and credits, including the Free plan's 300 credits.

Why does Android ask me to allow installs?

Because the app comes as a file rather than from Google Play. Android asks once whether your browser may install apps; after that it installs like any app.

Pick one. Make it tonight.

Type the idea into TallyReel, read the script, and it makes the video for you: in the browser, on your phone, or in Studio on your own computer. Start on the free plan.
